"Our guiding and upmost objective is to preserve balinese culture, values and lifestyle, and successfully integrate them into modern life and our business."
The Pandan Tree Villas were founded in 2012 as an intiative to provide not only a great holiday sanctuary for our guests, but also with the vision to open possibilites for employment, where sustainable economic growth in line with culture and traditional way of life for the local community can become a reality.
One of our main concerns is to give back to the local community and nurture the whole inter-woven social and economic system. Balinese culture founds on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which promotes harmony among fellow human beings through communal cooperation and promoting compassion; harmony towards God, manifested in numerous rituals and offerings to appease deities; and harmony with their environment, which strive to conserve nature and promote the sustainability and balance of the environment.
In the light of this philosophy, we actively extend and incorportate these principles into our activities and decision-making process, to mantain harmony on the different levels for a sustainable future.
We have come to understand that it is the Balinese open-heartedness and laid-back lifestyle, coupled with a rich cultural and natural heritage that make Bali a unique and magical holiday destination for people around the world.
In contrast to the profit-driven development that has reached the shores of Bali, we aim to provide an ‘original’ Bali experience with the effectivness and efficiency of modern standards, but with a pre-dominant focus on long-term community growth, rather than quick return-on-investment for the few.
We prefer to work with small local partners rather than big foreign owned companies. We use local products wherever we can to sustain and nurture the local community and minimize the impact on the environment. My wife Kadek also started to provide some home-made products because we want you to feel like you have arrived at your second home in Bali! We hope in this way to contribute to a bright future for the island and its residents, and to a great holiday and discovery experience for our guests.
